5 Strategies to Achieving Your SMART Goals as a Christian Artist

How can you be successful as an artist in 2022? One of the key ways is to set SMART goals! This article will discuss how to set S.M.A.R.T. goals for 2022 as an independent Christian artist, and some strategies that might help you stay focused on those goals so that you can experience the best year of your music career/ministry!

First of all, what are S.M.A.R.T goals?

S= specific...

M = measurable...

A= achievable...

R= relevant...

T= time bound!

So, how can you set SMART goals for 2022 as a Christian artist?

The first step is to prayerfully sit down and think about what you want to achieve. What are your dreams and aspirations? Take time to seek God's direction and guidance. Don't rush this part.

Once you have a general idea of what you're aiming for, it's time to get specific! Break down each goal into measurable steps that will help you achieve it. Make sure your goals are achievable, relevant to your life/vision and time-bound. Put a date on each goal so you have a sense of urgency to achieve it!

Here are a few examples of SMART goals for independent Christian artists to help you get some ideas flowing:

-25,000+ streams for every single I release in 2022.

-6 live shows with 100+ attendees by August 1, 2022.

-$500+ per month in merch sales by June 30, 2022.

-2,000 new subscribers on YouTube by September 30, 2022.

-10,000 followers on Instagram by November 30, 2022.

Now that you know how to set SMART goals, it's important to put into place some strategies that will help you stay focused on completing your goals. Here are some things to consider:

  1. Write down your specific goals for 2022 and place them somewhere visible! I recommend a spot that you will look at every day, like your bathroom mirror.

  2. Find an accountability partner and hold each other accountable as you work towards your goals.

  3. Start setting aside time each week to work on your goals.

  4. Set smaller monthly and quarterly goals that will help you achieve your goals for the year. That will help you stay on track.

  5. Don't get distracted by other projects or things that don't contribute to your goals. Stick with what's important and let go of the rest! Learn to say NO!

If you want 2022 to be the best year yet for your music career/ministry, I highly recommend setting SMART goals! If this post has been helpful, DM us on Instagram and let us know!
