Planning Your Next Music Release? Get This Free New Release Checklist!

We get it. Whether it’s a new single, EP or album, planning for a new release can be very overwhelming!

We talk to Christian artists and churches on a daily basis that feel lost when it comes to how best to plan for a new release. Most artists don’t know what to do besides uploading their song through their distributor (often too close to release day) and then talking about it on release day.

You get ONE CHANCE at releasing your music as a new release. You need to make sure you have a well thought out plan. That’s just good stewardship of what God’s entrusted you with.

When I was heading up marketing campaigns at major Christian record labels in Nashville, we would start planning for a release 6 months out. We wouldn’t even set a release date until we had final masters from the producer/artist. Our goal was to set the release date no sooner than 6 months from the day we had the final masters in our hands. As an independent artist, you probably don’t need that kind of lead time, but you do need to give yourself plenty of lead time.

For months leading up to the release, we would work hard to create a comprehensive marketing plan. We would do photoshoots, produce videos, create all types of content way in advance of the release.

As an independent Christian artist, you probably don’t have the expertise to think through everything on your own to make your release a success. You probably feel lost and have a lot of questions...

When should you upload your master to your distributor? When’s the right time to promote your Spotify pre-save? What should you be doing leading up to the release?

Questions like these are exactly why we created the “New Release Checklist for Christian Artists”. This incredible resource walks you through every step of the process starting 3 months from release day and even includes ideas for how you can keep the momentum going post release.
